1999 Majella Shiraz
13.5% Alcohol
$23

A nice wine overall with your typical Aussie Shiraz nose and palate. Very grapey in flavor with loads of red fruits; cherry, red raspberry. Some chocolate, and dark red currant flavors, toasty oak with echoing vanilla. Sweet currants linger the most in the finish which last for some time (30 seconds). A solid bottle of wine with 7-8 years of life ahead of it. Score 90 points.

edit: I opened this at 5pm and decanted it at 7 when I got back home. I am finishing my last glass now 10:21 and it is the best one so far.

seek1,

Majella is one of the most consistent Coonawarra producers and is a winery to watch in the future. their wines just keep on improving.

Cheers
