2000 Gravner Ribolla Gialla - Italy, Friuli, Oslavia (9/11/2005) Mandarin orange with sweetened liquid apricot on the nose. Dry, slightly oxidized palate that stops just short of being nutty. A bit angular. ***-
Thanks James. This wasn't decanted but we did leave it (along with another Gravner, Radikon, and Lispida which all bear some resemblance) in the glass for some time. There was some talk about decanting ahead of time but for whatever reason we didn't. Gravner is an iconoclast in the best sense of the word, making some of the most expressive and unique whites of Italy.
