Cap de Faugeres is a beautiful Bordeaux wine from the Cotes de Castillon district, but right on the border of St. Emilion. This has been a budget overachiever and is now selling for $35 per bottle.

A youthful dark red/purple juice, but with a muted and somewhat musty nose out of the bottle. Opened in the glass after 15 minutes and showed, dark fruits with espresso, chocolate, minerals and spice! Medium to full bodies wine with mature tannins and a lovely, slightly sweet fruit finish. Good concentration and balance, this 2000 Cap de Faugeres is singing nicely now, and will probably be good for at least another 10 years.

This was the best bottle I've had! 91 points.
