Anyone?
Any what's a fair price. See it for $43 plus tax.
Thanks in advance.

For $43 I'd give it a go. I believe this is one of Kistler's "bottom rung of the ladder" bottlings. A blend of a few Sonoma Coast vineyards but still a decent bottle.

Hi KOH - I paid $60. $43 is a pretty good price. Here's the TN

Never saw it below $40.00. I believe that is the 1 that they do Not offer on the Mailing List anymore. It goes to stores & restaurants only these days. "bottom" 1 is correct, but still a good bottle for the $$$.

WOW, $60.00 would be too much $$$. Sorry, Winetex.

Is the "Sonoma Coast" different from the "Carneros" bottling? I have seen the latter at my wine shop for around $60.

I'm pretty sure the Sonoma Coast, Carneros and Les Noisetiers (which is also available on mailing list) are all blends of different vineyards. These bottlings get shipped to wine stores and/or restaraunts. They are not single vineyards but how do I say....the grapes that didn't quite make the single vineyard cut.

King,

I'm a big Kistler fan and automatically bought the three bottles of Sonoma '00 I found. But I am honestly not as impressed with this one at the price. I thought the '98 and '99 were better. I'd rather have the Mer Soliel or Red Shoulder Ranch for the price.

Meritage,
Since our tastes seem to run along extremely similar lines (except for the Paringa, which I like) I'll pass. Need a $43 of chardonnay to score a TKO.

Does anyone have any TN on the 1997 Kistler Sonoma Coast Chard? I noticed WS rated the '98 version of this 90 pts. Thanks.

It's $44 at the new Sam's Club in Woodbury. Winetex, I know you told me to go for it, but I've held off. Compared to a good Premier Cru White Burgundy, is it STILL worth dropping $90 for 2 bottles?? I mean, let's face it, it's STILL California Chard... [Smile]
