A lovely fall-ish day, sun shining, leaves just starting to turn, my man-slave grilling halibut on the BBQ, and Mishy with a stat day off [Big Grin]
Since summer's almost over in Canada, and I am already dipping into the big reds this week, but today, no way!
I decided to turn to my most absolutus wholehearted FAVOURITE BC white wine this year, the Quails Gate Gerwurtztraminer, as there will be few days like these left for this little delicate beauty.
I didn't post this earlier in the season because I was afraid that one of you might buy it all up and there wouldn't be any for me this summer [Razz] , now is a safer time [Wink] .

--------------------------------------------------

Colour: light pale straw to watery rim
Nose: Powerful lychee & pinapple off the top, lime and light spice of nutmeg and dijon mustard in the background.
Palate: Big intense apricot and peaches, pinapples, pretty light sweetness, solid tingley acidity.
Finish: Med-long finish of citrus and tropical fruits, with the acid hanging through.
Just delightful [Big Grin]
Mishy rates 91 pnts - or very, very yummy [Big Grin]
16$- Broadway International Wine Cellar
Cheers,
Mishy

Hey Mishy,
Are you confirmed for November 2003?
If so could you possibly bring one or two bottles of BC gewurzt (my favourite aromatic!) please..
I've got some good NZ examples I'll be bringing and would love to do a comparative tasting (not competitive).

Mishy: what stat holiday is Sept. 20 in BC? WAC Bennett's birthday? The umpteenth anniversary of Billy vander Zalm's landing in Canada from the Old Country? the commemoration of the founding of Canada's first nude beach? I can't find it on my calendar...... [Wink]

Jeremy,
I'm IN for November '03 [Big Grin] , I'll score more this week and put them away for you - say for 'about' the same time next year [Wink] !
We'll compare baby !
Bman,
I accumulate my stats, this one is for Canada day, so as you can tell, I am several behind. I happen to like that beach [Wink] - you can buy salted Ceasers and Margaritas there, as well as some darned good Hummus and Falafels - not to mention the GOOD stuff [Wink]
Stemor,
I will bring some on November, you have to KNOW someone [Wink] - like ME [Big Grin] , and you do !!!!
You lucky ducky!
Cheers,
Mishy
