    Man, that IS tempting!! Razz

Luckily, the Champagne was courtesy of KSC02 so I wouldn't be able to trade with you. Wink

Blame it all on the great stuff I got to drink in early 2008. Red Face Wink

    For the record, I loved the 1995 Cuvee Charlie I had last X-mas a D's place. I rated it 96 I believe.

Yep, the '85. I'd been thinking that as well. I was lucky enough to have a KSC02 bottle last month. I agree, amazing stuff. It was a long and fantastic eve, but 96 points sounds about right. Smile

i am a fan of champagne and in my comparative tastings, this wine beat out the 2000 cristal, the 1998 and 1999 dom perignon, and even the 1996 salon.

Wait, which wine are you referring to? The '85 Charlie? Yes, that is one of the best Champagnes I've ever had. The '95 Blancs de Millenaires? If so, damn.

Please give the '96 Salon time, much like the '96 Krug.

yes, i was referring to the 1995. as for the 1996 salon, while i'm sure it will develop quite nicely with age, it just did not live up to my expectations the three times i had it. the 1996 krug, on the other hand, is something to be reckoned with -- probably the best young champagne i have ever tasted. it destroyed the salon.

Agree wholeheartedly winetarelli. I`ve had a few bottles of this now and every one has been absolutely gorgeaus. Just sourced a few more bottles at $99 which, IMO, is an incredible price for these.

These are currently $74.99 at Premier Cru. Grabbed another... It's an awesome champagne. (not to depress you, Ksc02)

I think that was special weekend pricing, however, now that I think about it.

Are you referring to the 1995 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires OR the 1985 Charles Heidsieck Champagne Charlie. I`m referring to the Charlie, and I`ve never seen PC sell it under $125, which itself is not bad.

If you picked up the Charlie for $75, you indeed found one outstanding deal. I took a quick look on the PC website and I do still see the `95 Blanc des Millenaires. A decent price as well.
