NV Champagne Lallier Champagne Grande Réserve Grand Cru - France, Champagne, Aÿ, Champagne (10/24/2012) -- tasted non-blind over 6 hours -- NOSE: intense, “winey” pear and green grape aromas; fresh white baguette. BODY: frothy mousse; very active bead of medium to large bubbles; tan-yellow color of medium depth; medium-light bodied. TASTE: rich green apple fruit flavor with a hint of back-end mineral; intensely flavored/not delicate; loosely structured; seems somewhat fat, although it does have pretty good acidity; doesn’t seem as light on its feet as it did last time I tasted it --- or, perhaps, this is merely the difference between spending 6 minutes with a wine versus spending 6 hours with it; decent QPR. B: 50, 5, 11, 15, 6 = (87 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker | ||
