Had this at the Outback Steak House (see thread in wine conversations on BYOB alert). Aroma was very elegant soft sweet grape jelly, cotton candy that was very enticing. Medium body, Dark purple in color sitll. I was amazed that the color was this dark still. The entry was very sweet, with a very light elegant feel, sort of light in the mid range but with lots of sweet currant, chocolate covered cherry, candied flavors. This wine is one that you could just keep in your mouth forever, like savoring a good truffle. A little lacking in complexity. There was nothing harsh with this wine. The finish was long. I couldn't believe that it was still so big. I wasn't expecting this wine to be so good since we had an '86 earler this year and it wasn't very good. Tannins are there but not very noticeable. Acidity is light. I think it would last another 5 years but would not say that it would improve with more aging. Drink them now!
94WS, 96RP, 95 IMHO.
