2004 Rolf Binder/Veritas Shiraz Hanisch - Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley (10/31/2009)
WIML90

Tasted October 31, 2009 at a retail tasting.

Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of coffee, berries, cassis and raspberries. Flavors of berries, cherries and raspberries. Medium acidity, firm tannins, medium to full bodied. I guess drink now with a fair amount of air time or continue to hold. This wine left me perplexed. I tasted it from two different bottles; one opened over night and one freshly opened. Neither showed better than a WIML90 so maybe the truth lies in the air time between right now? Let's hope. (90 pts.)
