just wanted to drop a line as to how good this wine was, i tasted it blind thinking at first it was an older ridge montebello but i was suprised to find its true identity.
deep, dark, full of color. tasted still very young, i'd guess it could go another 10-15 years. i was also suprised to find out it was aged 48 months in french oak prior to release....... simply amazing!

Jeff,

Thanks for your note. I'll have to try one of these soon. I've been concerned about how they were doing after being disappointed by the 1985 Caymus Special Selection in a couple of recent tastings.

Did you decant the wine before serving ?

The wine was decanted for and hour and half then put back into the bottle and brought to the party. Also, the bottle was a slighty short fill. Drink up my friend, and if you need a drinking partner i'd love another chance to try it.
