Light to medium body. Light sweet entry then becomes mere complex as it stays in your mouth. Flavors of light blackberry jam, currants, bittersweet chocolate, and then a finish of jalapeno pepper in the tannic finish. Wonderful wine that needs five more years to be at its prime! Wondeful. 95 pts imho.

I find it interesting that you did not note cedar or sweet tobacco in either this or the '94. These two components I find so so steller in both and make this wine reminiscent of great Bordeaux. Someone else (Pyang?) just did a tasting note of the '94 and found it past its prime. I'm sure storage issues and bottle variation are certainly at play here as the wine approaches its 12 birthday.

Interesting. I don't often think of those two flavors when I taste. I am sure they are there, but I can't remember them now.

As far as aging on the 94, this bottle would of been better with a few more years, but was great now. I can see it lasting 20 years. 2005 perfect time to drink it, although I doubt mine will last until then!

and yes it was gorgous and it will need a few more years to get on top.
