Nose is dominated by alcohol. The palate is a little gamy and salty with that steely minerality. As it warms up it shows some plum and honey. The problem is that it is a little bitter and metallic. Not revolting, just nothing I want to drink.

let's see salt, bitter, metallic - but still 87 pts or outstanding. Wow I would hate to drink what you rated 82 pts. you would probably use descriptors like: bat s*&t, horse urine, stale cabbage, wet aardvark, angry horny yak, etc.

thirsty man, did you happen to notice the "I am just joking" smiley face sticking his tongue out immediately to the right of 87 points? It was sort of a good natured jab at people who berate wines and score them 85-89 points.

Also, what makes you think I know what "bat s*&t, horse urine, stale cabbage, wet aardvark, angry horny yak, etc.", I am not from Tennessee. Smile

Trying to play the straight man here.... I expected you to jump to the wines defense and insist that salty wine with a bitter metallic aftertaste is all the rage in italy right now. And that there is no better wine for a well seasoned buzzard.

Guess it didn't work so well.

As to the descriptors - heck I was just talking about smell. I don't think anyone knows or wants to know what an angry horny yak tastes like. Wink

G

PS - if you ever make it to Tennessee drop me a line and I promise you won't be served anything that tastes or smells like bat s*&t, horse urine, stale cabbage, wet aardvark, angry horny yak, etc.

Not me, I have been whining about bitter wine for years. I don't mind salty but bitter and metallic is unpleasant.

Thanks for the invite, you never know.

Stay thirsty my friend.
