Been meaning to try the Affinity for a while since I have a bunch.
Decanted for two hours, with a taste an hour in that was tannically scary it was so green. Wine softened in the next hour and continued to evolve for the 4-plus hours it was available. At the end you really could appreciate a soft, rounded typical RCraig Bordeaux blend with a nice long finish. 90 points
Simply loved the Patz & Hall, my first go at the Napa after having several single vineyard bottles. Was a little too chilled at first sip, but as it warmed to room temperature fruit -- creamy apricot, papaya and melon -- came bursting out of the glass. Tremendously thick mouthfeel. Not a hint of oak. 92+ and highly recommended.

Cheers!
And remember: Life's too short to drink bad wine.

KOH,

Good to hear 01 P&H is very good. I have always enjoyed P&H's stuff in years past. However, the last few years the prices are slowly creeping up; so, I have been drinking other whites.

K:

Glad to hear the Affinity finally came around. How long would you say we should cellar it?

LR,
Unless you want to decant for about three hours I'd say it will be much improved in another 12-24 months. I can wait.

Cheers!
