My wife and I invited a few board members over last weekend for a small Oktoberfest. For appetizers we served some assorted German cheese and sausage, warm soft pretzels with spicy mustard, shrimp and grilled portobella mushrooms stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and prosciuto. The first course was liver dumpling soup. For dinner, my wife made roasted pork with bread dumplings, spaetzle and sauerkaut cooked with bratwurst and knockwurst. Anwar brought an apple tart for dessert.

Here are the wines. I'll post some notes when time allows.

It was, indeed, a great time! Fabulous food by Mrs. VM! Now, about that music....

Thanks for a wunderbar evening, VM! The wine and food were fabulous, as usual.

My favorites were the '02 Weil and the '03 Muller-Catoir.

Thanks for bringing out the potato gun. It ain't officially Autumn until the spuds start flying over the trees of Glen Ellyn!

Cheers,

Otis
