Blanc de Morgex (Prie Blanc) is the grape varietal.
La Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle is a cooperative. If you aren't familiar with the Valle D'Aosta, up in the Alps northwest of Piedmont, the growers here are predominantly residents with small garden plots. Cooperatives are the norm, though there are some excellent exceptions.
Usually wines from this region are serviceable, not impressive, but this wine surprised me. It was very good.
Profile-wise it was very Loire dry Sauvignon Blanc-like in terms of color, acidity and fruit level. It was well-balanced, too, so it was enjoyable on its own and very good with food. 88pts.
