Nothing petite about it. Extremeley dark purple, super heavy in body. Thick, unctuous, sweet black fruits, tasted pepper and jalapeno on the finish, moderate tannins. great wine but would recommend drinking in a couple of years. I wish I could get more than three of these. Great wine for $40.00. 94+ imho smile

It used to be beer, the old lady, & TV. Now it's wine, American Express, & this stupid forum!

Well, I see that someone bid $99, the asking price, for one single bottle on winecommune.com recently!
On a more realistic note, thanks for the note. I'm going to wait a year or so to pop the first unless an appropriate friend comes along which would change the equation. I haven't tasted it yet, but you might want to look into finding some of the '99 Chiarello at about $40. As I understand it, it's made by the folks at Turley and is supposed to be quite good.
