This was my favorite white wine of the night and was rated the third favorite by all who attended Otis' party on Saturday if I recall correctly. WS rated this wine 90 points.

Basserman Jordan is widely considered among the very best Pfalz producers. Pfalz is the furthest South of Germanys wine growing regions and is known for their "trocken" or dry wines. B-J makes many highly rated trocken wines. This was not a trocken wine but was nicely done and one of the first whites to be finished at the party.

A crystal clear pale yellow color. This is made in a ripe and round style rather than a crisp and clean style. I think Mrs. R2D2 really liked it because every time I saw her she was pouring more. 10.5% alcohol. Pure fruit notes of green apple, pear and mineral in this medium bodied wine. Nice lingering finish. What a great breather after all of the heavy California whites proving that less is sometimes more. 91 points.

This is a very nice wine, especially for the price tag.

I posted a note on it a few weeks ago:

B-J Kabinett

Cheers,
