These were odds and ends in the cellar that I've pulled out over the last two weeks because they were on my "must drink by 2002 list".

97 Guenoc - I pulled this one because of the previous forum notes. Forumites were all correct; drink now as the fruit is fading fast. Tasted over two hours without any appreciable improvement in the fruit. Showed very finely grained tannins for the price of the bottle, but the fruit was AWOL.

Steltzner 95 Stags Leap District - This showed a very nice nose (13% cab franc if memory serves) that really raised my hopes. Was not quite as plush on the palate however and noticeably weak on the finish. Probably would have been better a year ago. Overall, I was pleasantly pleased as I wasn't really expecting alot from this bottle. I'm not a big fan of Steltzner, but I'd give this an 88 and enjoyed drinking it.

96 Greg Norman Cab-Merlot Coonawarra - I haven't had this for a couple of years and my last impression was that it was neither terribly refined nor likely to last long. I was very pleased to find it drinking nicely and easily worth the 91 points WS gave it on release. I think it's drinking at it's best right now. Well refined tannins, lots of berry, currant and spice and just, generally, well balanced. A nice surprise.
