  • 2007 Les Cailloux (Lucien et André Brunel) Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (9/19/2008)
Great aromas and flavors of honeyed pineapple and tropical fruits. Creamy mouthfeel with peach notes and a nice minerally, almond-tinged finish. Awesome value at the $29.00 I paid for it. 80% Roussanne, 10% Grenache Blanc and 10% Clairette. (91 pts.)

I tasted this again a couple of weeks ago and this wine is very good. Wouldn't change my note above. I still think this is a solid 91/92 point wine. I was recently informed by my buddy at the wine shop that the price is increasing from $29 to $45. Still a good buy in white Chateauneuf, but nearly the steal that it was.

For the D.C. crowd, Calvert Woodley is showing availability at $32.99. I think it is worth checking out a bottle at that price.
