Nice color, nose is cherries and more cherries with a little vanilla and strawberries that are reflected in the flavors, good structure but tannins are not noticeable. Again, something to drink sooner than later.

GMT,
Think this didn't match the quality of the estate. What do you say?
Just got my spring allocation confirmation letter. Took more than the max and am looking forward to tasting the new stuff.

Cheers!

King: I was just surprised by this one. Tasted two bottles, about the same: nice, pleasant pinot that is much less extracted and without the depth of flavors that I usually get from Tom's wines. I did get about 2 and a half cases on this new allocation, so I am still enamored of the wines here, but I am puzzled by this. Rumors in the Napa Valley say that the style has changed since Fred Scherrer left, but I have no idea as to the veracity of this. Steve Rigisch would know, so I'm hoping he'll chime in ( Steve: I am so sorry, but I just can't find your E-mail address anywhere....).

GMT,
King here.
Scherrer's been gone for a good while, since 1997 I think. So . . . ????
Hope that's not the case. Would have to think this one sliding down the slippery slope. Yet he talks of expansion etc. Perhaps that's taken away some of his attention.
Cheers!

I am hoping that this is just a minor aberration. Still a good pinot-----just not what we have come to expect.
