2003 Château Doisy-Védrines - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac (6/7/2006) Light golden yellow color. Sweet pineapple and a mildly honeyed botrytis nose. It's very pleasant in the mouth showing nice sweetness with good acid balance, but is lacking a little depth, and shows no real spice character. This could use significant time in the bottle, but I can't help but think that this is far outclassed by its 2001 version. A nice wine, and at $16 per half it's not a bad deal, but I'm not sure if I'll buy any more. (88 pts.)
