This was a nice glass of Chianti. I don’t have really complete tasting notes because I had it Sunday afternoon at a lunch meeting. But I found it to be medium- to full-bodied with nice coffee and dark chocolate notes that added some complexity to the satisfying plum and dark cherry fruit. Good acid/tannin/fruit balance, too, so it didn’t come across as “tart” they way many chiantis seem to. A good buy at $12, although I just checked online and that was apparently a very good price; it generally seems to sell in the $15 – $20 range. My score: About an 88.
