Generously served by friends this weekend. Glorious nose of tobacco, violets, earth, wet stone, mushrooms, leather. Could have smelled this all night. On the palate, smooth and seamless, with red fruits nicely balanced by well integrated tannin and acidity. This was much, much better than the 1989 that I shared with Seaquam, Gundam, and Steve8 last year. Just goes to show that even in so called off years, some wines can really shine. Also, provenance can be everything. Punch it , Chewie! | ||
