2000 Feudi di San Gregorio Serpico Irpinia IGT - Italy, Campania, Irpinia IGT (6/8/2006)

Poured at a retail tasting yesterday. Made with the Aglianico grape. This wine is on par with the 2001 vintage which I had last year. I did not find either overly impressive. Very well made wines with good concentration and extraction. This wine had an earthy character with a little bit of heat on the finish. I thought it had a solid fruit core with moderate tannins. 89-90 points.
