Well when I first dumped this baby in the decanter the color was unbelievable dark purple looked wonderfull. First I noticed the color has subdued figured that would happen though. It's a little oaky scented and the spice jump's out at you after that. First thought was berry flaver then made me think of cherry pie a favorite of mine when I was a child thank God I grew out of that. Then the spice kick's in. Pretty nice smooth tannins with a fleshy aftertase that does linger for a bit. Very enjoyable but I think that I like the 98' better might have to have one of those tommorrow Cant wait till the 2001' comes out in Sept. already saving my recycleable's to pay for them better start drinking more.
