DRAB,
I'm very surprised that the 02 PM Les Pavots did not show better? I have not seen a negative review since it's release. Did you taste any of the wines blind?

I've been called worse things than "crazy", so no worries there <am possibly sure you have too, maybe even on this site??>. I have a friend in Germany and the only time we every communicate is on the full moon; it's the only way either of us would remember, so at least I know when that is.

Now, tell me again.. how does it work ? When do good things happen and when do things start to sucka$$ ?, lunar-wise, that is????

Nice line up. Too bad I haven't seen this before, I could have sent one of my sentinels on a tasting. Will look forward to reading their tasting notes at this point and maybe will open a Chablis at home on the 28th.

About the moon.... Roll Eyes I wish I could be more helpful, unfortunatelly, I'm pretty confused at this point. Should a major scientific breakthrough occur, I'll let you know ASAP. Smile

SPS...Laube and I both agreed it was not nearly as good as the 2001. He said this was the third time he's tasted it, and it was still disappointing. It doesn't have the body or depth of the 2001, IMHO....whoaa...that felt weird to say.... Wink

So much wine.....so little time!!!

After that sample of the 02 Les Pavots, I really have no idea where 98 pts came from. It was VERY primary and not showing much in the way of complexity. I think it will age well but it was not on par with the 01 IMHO.

I think we all pretty much thought the Les Pavots was a disappointment. Did anyone else think otherwise?

The first word that popped into my head after tasting the 2002 Les Pavots was hollow.

Tanzer rated this a 92-95 just before bottling, so it isn't only Parker who thought this was going to be great.

Whiner....

Don't get me wrong here, I didn't think it was bad. Just disappointing after Parker's 98 pt. rating (and, he's not a Les Pavots fan either! So when he liked it, I thought it would really be spectacular!). I'd say it's a solid 92 pt. wine. So, IMHO, Tanzer is probably not that far off. I just don't think $150 for a 92 pt. wine is even close to reasonable. Especially with this not having much of a singular personality either....

Right, which is why I'm giving 6 of my 7 to pyang. Cool I assume given the 98 point rating those looking to sell will still be able to get their money back...probably and then some. Bummer, but now Future Mrs. Whiner won't yell at me when I bid on a wine tonight at wine commune that is currently priced about $300 less than it should be Eek Big Grin

Sounds good to me. Can we also schedule a tour of Neal Family winery? Wink

I think we're thinking of doing our winery tours on the Monday date after the wedding. We would probably be available for dinner on any night but the Saturday wedding date.
