Very dense, dark wine. Strong scent of blackberry and plum. Heavy taste of blackberry and dark chocolate. Full bodied with secondary flavors of earthy mushroom and licorice. Finishes with firm oak and tannins with a bit of vanilla and a touch bitter. When first opened and tasted I thought this was about a 86 point wine but in the next hour it improved a bit to an 88 point wine. If the the finish was smoother I could rate this 90 points but that light bitterness on the finish just didn't subside. Still a great QPR at $12.99. Would be a perfect wine paired with steak.
