I don't usually do TN for wines recently reviewed but will for this one. Had last night with fish in three sauces (a citrus, sweet pepper, and ginger soy).

Wonderful floral nose, with a slight hint of tropical fruit. Firm yet light. It wasn't in any way heavy. Well balanced with oak, fruit and acidity in perfect balance. A fantastic wine with food.

This is the type of Chard. that lets you know why people all over the world try to grow Chard. It's also why I find so many disappointing. There's nothing over blown or over done about this. It's not a buttery oak ball like so many attempts at good chard.

Apple, and a hint of mango with this great streak of mineral. Like "wet stones" to steal a phrase. Intense through the finish with a bit of oaky spice mixing with the minerals that race on and on.

Wonderful 94 points. I have one bottle left, but will track down more for sure.

For those of you who know about the never ending quest for Stef to find a Chard she likes.... She rated this one 90+ and outstanding.

Thanks for the notes. This is always on my to buy list for the overall balance of the wine. Although, sometimes I get too many citrus (acidic) notes, thus I generally drink the Les Clos with 4-5 years of age. I noticed you mentioned apple, but no citrus. My '00 are slated to drink next year. Do you think I am missing anything?

If loving the Buckeyes is wrong....I don't want to be right.

One of the sauces I made was a citrus reduction. Orange, Lemon and Grapefruit. I couldn't tell if I was getting that or citrus from the wine. Lemon peel, would be what I would describe, but still wouldn't be 100% the sauce wasn't effecting that, so I left it off my notes.
