The last time I had this (approx 1 year ago upon release) I thought it was closed, and needed some time. Man, what a difference 1 year makes.

This inky-purple wine was muted upon opening, but after a few minutes in the glass really opened up. Intense notes of blueberry, blackberry, dark currants and subtleties of oak and vanilla. The palate reveals the same, but with a little less intensity. Good acidity and ripe tannins. With a little decanting, this is ready to go now. Solid 90 points.

Good to hear - I have 1 bottle left over from my wedding that I've been meaning to pop the cork on sometime this summer. Thanks for the encouraging report. Smile

I love this wine ... $9!!!!!

I bought 18 bottles on release and it has evolved nicely over the last 1-1.5 years. I have enjoyed all but 1 bottle that was a little flat/corked. I have 3 left. I just bought a case of 2001. I've heard that it is a little rough on day#1, but shines on day #2. This time I think it was $10 .... Big Grin
