had these three wines with diner at Daniel NYC. It was sublime... except for the $400+ check that came afterwards..

1. Started off with a glass of Cuvee Daniel Champagne paired with calms and some sort of caveir. i found the cuvee daniel pretty good... fresh, a bit sweet, with toasty bread. I give the cuvee daniel 89pts

2. 1998 Lynch Bages. paired with Lamb. not exactly the best pairing in the world but my dinner gets got the beef duo, so I thought a Lynch Bages would be ideal. Earthly, dark purple, and rather a bit plain jane. Lacks fruit flavors. I give it 87pts

3. finished off with Talyor 20 year tawny. Lightish brown in color and taste of nuts, peanut butter, and dark bitter chocolate. I can still taste this! My favorite wine of the night... 93pts.

4. had a sip of my guest's 1977 Smith Woodhouse Port. Dark purple in color and a bit one dimensonal... I expected more from this wine. Lots of sweet fruit with a little hint of prunes. maybe I was too drunk by this point to judge this wine...

overall it was a great dining experience.
