Guys,
I had a bottle of this at the Ginger Man restaurant in Albany, New York Last week. I've been into Chile for years, and have been working into Argentina wines the last year or so. I'm pretty much with Bman on this one. I think it was $26 at the restaurant, and I told my companions I thought it would retail for about $13. IMO it's a solid 88 pointer at least, and had enough stuffing for a $12 bottle. I'd buy some if I were looking for stuff in the low -mid teens price range right now. (Currently am not, filled that price range with Marquis de casa concha 2003 cab and Sebastiani 2002 Cab). |

And then a friendly PC who some of you will meet at the end of this month found me a single bottle in the back of the store. Which we opened a few weeks ago. This wine really benefitted from the time in the cellar, in fact, it is probably the best malbec, if not the best red, I've ever had at this price point. I tasted plum, cherry, hickory smoke and bittersweet chocolate. After an hour in the decanter, there was some bramble, tar and while pepper. I scored this 92 points with food, though I have to say that without food it was a shadow of itself, which I would not score even 90 points. ------------------- Go Bruins!! Go Tigers!! Go Pistons!! Go Lions!! |
