I think Elk Cove makes Oregon's best Pinot Gris.
Just one more sip. |

I am new to Elk Cove PN but I have to say I really enjoyed this immensely. I called my wine merchant and had her set aside more bottles as a result of this tasting last night.

Yep, and if I'm not mistaken, the oldest doing so in North America, but I'm not positive on that fact. |

Elk Cove always seems to be consistent on their PN and PG. I've been a big fan of their La Boheme for some time now.

The 1999 La Boheme is just now starting to bloom. It's a shame most of it has already been consumed.
Just one more sip. |

Actually, the oldest Pinot Gris in North America is Eyrie. In addition to bringing Pinot Noir to the Willamette Valley, David Lett planted the first Pinot Gris outside of Europe. That said, I agree that Elk Cove does a damn fine Pinot Gris. ----- Daniel R Somerfield CHEHALEM http://www.chehalemwines.com (503) 538-4700 |

Since Daniel chimed in here, I'll add that close behind Elk Cove comes Chehalem Pinot Gris, both the Reserve and the regular bottling. From there, imo, it's a big step down to the other OR PGs.
Just one more sip. |

The King Estate Pinot Gris is pretty tasty, we love it with salmon in the summer.
