Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Chapelle-Chambertin 1er Cru 1984

We started of bad, the bottle and me. The cork was like (Dutch!) cheese and broke into 10,000 pieces, half of them fell in the bottle. Fortunately, the wine was clear, so everything but one glass could be saved with coffee filters.
The wine was a real surprise. A fresh nose with some strawberry. Light to medium bodied wine, with fresh berry, plum, leather and soft mushroom and earth tones. Elegant and balanced, with a medium finish. A real surprise, considering the off-vintage. A good 86-87 pts. Big Grin

And as a finishing touch, God created the Dutch!

I have always loved this producer. At Christmas time I had a bottle of the Drouhin-Laroze Chambertin Clos De Beze 1990. If you do a search it should be in the database. It is not very often I drink Grand Cru Burgundy. Thanks for the TN.
