I do not post tn's, but every once in a while if i have opened a bottle that i feel is worthy of recommendation then i will post a thought.

This wine tasted out of Magnum over the weekend with the Pinot Envy's was simply stupendous, with no noticeable tannin, a to die for nose, and a full frontal classic Cabernet Sauvignon assault on ones palate while being followed by a long lingering finish, and all this pleasure being delivered by 13.5% alc, who says one needs the much higher alc% so common today to achieve flavor?

This wine while accompanied with a prime NY Strip at Delmonico's was heavenly, no doubt about it...The food, wine and company made for a memorable evening to be sure!

I had this wine in 750 ml earlier this year, and thought it was excellent. You don't hear so much about this winery these days, but in my very limited experience with their wines, I haven't been disappointed.

Thanks for the TN.

Red, thanks for the note, sounds like a great bottle. I have only one left, should I drink or hold?

I like tannin in my Cabs. My favorite CA Cabs are all under 13% alcohol, so I agree with your assessment on the alcohol.

I had a 750 of this last March and it was outstanding. I also had a magnum of 97 Insignia along side of it and felt the Insignia to be a tad better but the Spootswoode was great. I have a Magnum of this left.

I have had this wine six times and all six notes are remarkably consistent. Excellent every time. Last time in April, 2005 and I think prime time for this wine is age 9-12.
