If you liked the 2000 (I sure did), you will like this one. It may need a few more months as there seemed to be a bit more of oakiness showing than last years. Same honey like citrus notes with some light spice and fig. But the finish lingers for 20+ seconds. I think Lewis upped the price a bit this year too, retail is now $40. Will probably start seeing it closer to $35 at discount wine stores.

Do you guys think that the Lewis price increase on the Sonoma Chard (from $35 to $40 - 15%) is a sign of things to come for the 2001 vintage? If it is, I ain't gonna be able to afford much of it

I believe that Lewis Cellars hired a new winemaker about 6 months ago: A wonderful young man that was an assistant winemaker with Nils Venge. His name is Kristoff I think. Does anybody know more about this or how it might effect the wines?
