Yes, this is a great wine. Still needs time. Initial nose was a perfume blast of dark fruit, light oak and currant. Decanted and tried after about 2 hours... smooth and crisp. Cherry, blackberry and a tint of spice with nice aromas still filling the glass. Accidentally left in decanter for 15 hours total... finished off. Started to lose its character by that time, but still likeable. At $35, I highly recommend. Probably needs about two to three more years of bottle time, but good now.

Thanks for the tasting notes. I've got a bottle sitting in my cellar that I got from my brother in law for Christmas. My opinion of him just moved up a notch.

LJ65 -- I liked this wine a lot also. And I like it even more at its price point.
Here's a link to my note, if you're interested: 99 Turnbull Cab I sure wish this wine were available in Vancouver. ----------------------------- Cheers. |
