I must say that I was a bit disappointed with my 1st bottle. After reading rave reviews about it in a number of venues, I found it to be rather ordiniary. It lacked the elegence and fruit of the 1996 and 1998. Normally known for its finish, I found the finish on this one... well, finished before I got to it. The plum was hiding in there some where. The tannins were very soft. I am confused. Will it age nicely in the bottle like many of the shiraz? I will give it another chance in the winter. I have 4 which I cauught at $17 each. I love the '96 Bin 61 na the Classic Clare is beyond my expectations. The jury is still out on the 1999.
