Another gem I picked up recently. Only $30. Not decanted (too lazy).
Lovely pale red color, almost completely transparent. Beautiful floral nose (Is this what violets smell like?), with raisins and some licorice/earth. Very acidic on the tongue, this went well with my Atkins-friendly pizza. Great medium body, this really lingers a long time in the mouth.
This is drinking very well right now. I think that it may be capable of a little more (a lot of acid still), but I would give this 91+pts.
******** Yes, but I came here for an argument.
Oh! Oh! I'm sorry, this is abuse.

I'm glad this wine worked out for you. 1993 was a good year sandwiched between 3 poor vintages in Piedmont. 1991, 1992 and 1994 were very bad. I recently had a less than stellar experience with a 1991 Barolo.
