Nice bottle, the color is still all there. Loads of blackfruit and cedar box with an acidity that says, this wines not done yet...by far. Friend brought this over after his dinner,pd. $170 at his dinner and what a friend, thought of me and brought 3/4 over so I could taste. Cheers to good friends!!

Thanks for the note. I just picked up a bottle on this and am looking forward to trying it. Hopefully my bottle is as nice as the one you had.

Chilly:
I've got two more of these left. I opened one not too long ago and foun that it needed about 2.5 hours of air. Still a little rustic, but held its own with several other older Bordeaux. Based on my last bottle, I'm targeting 2007 for opening the next one. |

I have had the 89 Gruaud Larose twice this year and both times they were stellar wines 93-94 pts. It held it own very well against the 89 Margaux, Montrose, Cheval Blanc and Lynch Bage.

Thanks for the data points. I'm looking to open the GL and probably the Talbot fairly soon. I have yet to try older Bordeaux and this this and the Talbot are my experiment to see if I like older Bordeaux.
