60% merlot 40% cab. sauv. 13.8 % alcohol. Dark in color all the way to the edge. Tight needs air. Two hours of air. Nose was primarily cab prominent, with some red fruit and slight floral/herby notes, and just a touch of tar. Soft in taste (almost flat) with some black cherry trying to break through the mouth watering tannins. Will wait another year and re-taste. Nothing special. 84-85 points.

If loving the Buckeyes is wrong....I don't want to be right.

I don't know if you saw it, but I wrote a bunch about Foris recently...

I don't think I had seen a '97 Klipsun; don't think I saw it on their website even, but hadn't been there in maybe a year (it's there now.)
Then a week or so ago I was talking to a salesman who said he had had it & liked it, but didn't buy any. Even though we're close to OR, there is a lot of Foris sold around here, & mostly the Pinots & Gewurz. I was in Eugene for Christmas & don't think I say any, but will look more closely at Mother's Day.

I pulled some various Foris Cab & Merlot from '91-'95 out yesterday to drink thru summer.

Blobby,
I saw you posts and wasn't suprised to see your response. You had good notes. The 97 is in the process of being reduced in Columbus, OH, down to $20 from $29. Mad
I have enjoyed the Klipsun in the past. Bought 3 bottles when they came out (about 18 months ago), and thought maybe I'll try one and get more at the reduced price.
I did and I will not by more. Frown

It's $30 on their website. I'll still probably try it if I can. I wish I had bought more of the '92 when a local Larry's market had it reduced several years ago, but let it go too long & some other fan beat me to it.
More notes to come, although I tend to drink it more than I take notes. Roll Eyes

Just happened to find some tonight at Pike & Western in Seattle, recently arrived, for $20. I suspect the winery's trying to clear it out or something. I got one to try, maybe this weekend.

Had it Sat. night & agree, OK, but nothing special. Frown Not much better than what I recall of the Flyover Red ($13.50.)
