I tried this last nite. I know SIMI got a new winemaker around the 2001 or 2002 season, and this wine is nothing like the 2001 or 2000. Flavors have really changed in the 2002 and the 2003 is no different then the 2002. If you blind folded me and had me taste the 03, I would of thought it was a lighter Zinfandel. tasted nothing like a Cab, the traditional Cab flavors of black currant and Cassis Flavor was gone, replaced by plums, spice, herbs, cherry. Decanting made little difference. If you ask me I give it only a 84 and that is bonus points for being easy to drink, low acidity and smooth.
