Beautiful dark ruby/purple color with moderate but noticeably colored legs. Fairly floral nose with a palate of gorgeous, deep blackberry as well as red fruits with great lift and charm, followed by espresso notes on the finish but still mostly about the fruit. The oak is completely integrated. Very pure. Not as much influence from the Viognier as the '02. Not as smooth or as complex as a Run Rig but quite alluring on its own terms. Delicious. Approachable now with significant aeration (this took four hours, non-decanted to resemble anything expressive at all), but I believe this wine's best days are still at least two more years away. 94

De gustibus non est disputandum.

I'll look for it but I'm sure the 2001 is long gone as Torbreck wines sell out pretty quick from any vintage.
