This is a decent enough wine, but nothing to be all that impressed with. Notes of dark red cherry, sweet tobacco, olive pit, mineral and slightly stinky earth. Not enough fruit here for me, especially in light of the vintage. Moderate finish. Good, but nothing special. 88 pts.

Was it decanted? If so for how long? I'm finding 2003 (as a whole) is still rather closed.

Nope...just tasted over 3-5 hours.
