2002 Two Hands Shiraz Lily's Garden - Australia, South Australia, McLaren Vale (11/30/2005)
This was my top wine of the night at the blind tasting of 14 Syrahs at Otis' house. It was a solid redish purple color. The wine had rich red fruit notes with some pepper on the finish. I found it to be a rather forward wine with a nice round texture. Not overdone and with a very good balance. 93-94 points.

Not decanted. Super creamy, like blackberry full-fat yogurt on first tasting, almost sweet, then it settles down (if you can call it that) to molasses, licorice, lots of cassis and smoky maple on the finish.

That rare big Oz shiraz that seems to be as good right out of the bottle as decanted (it took us a while to finish this bottle).

Easy 94 points.
