Tasted 4/28/07.

Sweet rich blueberry & cherry on nose. Well-integrated oak, but it's a bit too hot, needs more roundness & presence. on midpalate. Disappointing considering it sells for $30+.

Disappointing, I bought a couple of bottles recently. I'll hold them for a few years and hope to have a better experience. Any thoughts about aging this wine?

2005 John Duval Wines Shiraz Entity - Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley (2/6/2008)

Emilio brought this to dinner at Creek 28 in Miami Beach. He was able to get them to waive corkage. The food and atmosphere was wonderful. Not sure if this was decanted. Among the top wines of the night for me. Despite being a full bodied wine, I found this to be well balanced. Great mouthfeel and rich, lush fruit notes. Elderberry, spice, black pepper and creamy red fruit. Long finish. 93 points.

this wine is nowhere near its end,I wouldn't even open it for a few years.John Duval was the winemaker for penfolds for a looong time.It has more balance, structure and potential then 99 percent of new Aussie wines I've tasted.

Dark red with a nose of smoke, fresh blackberries and plums. Very refined, a little muted due to its youth but nice blackberry and some cherry notes on a elegant, grainy tannic finish. Low acidity and not jammy at all. Well done. revist in 3-4 years. 92+ (92 pts.)

Brought to a restaurant for Mother's Day so limited notes, but this one was bigger and oakier than the 04, more towards the stereotypical Aussie fruit bomb style, albeit a very well done one. Dark fruit flavors of plum and blackberry on a full body frame with low acidity. More polished and complex than most other big Shirazes. Prefer the 04 which was more elegant and had less oak. (92 pts.)
