2005 Bruno Sorg Riesling Florimont - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru AOC (11/6/2012) -- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over a few hours -- NOSE: light-to-moderate petrol; limey; Bosc pear; after four hours, an interesting hint of popcorn emerged; moderate-to-moderate+ expressiveness. BODY: green-tinged golden yellow color of medium depth; medium-light bodied. TASTE: dry; quinine; smoky; lots of mineral and a hint of peppermint toothpaste on the finish, which is of moderate intensity and medium-long length; 13.3% alc. not noticeable; intense smoky/metallic mineral note; flavor builds in intensity with air exposure (~1.5 hours in); moderate to moderate+ acidity; limey; flavor continues to increase in intensity (now ~4.5 hours in); lacking maybe just a touch of zip/intensity, but this is picking nits. This is a very nice wine. Drink or continue to hold. B: 50, 5, 11, 17, 8 = (91 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker | ||
