Maybe it is jsut me, but had a bottle of Paringa shiraz with the lady tonight. I have had it before, but I think it has gotten better each time I have had it. Anyone else try it? I think it has pretty intense flavors for a ten dollar bottle. Now that rosemount prices seem to be creeping ever higher, I think this could be a good everyday red.

Sreaming deal!! 1999 Pasqua Villa Borghetti Valpolicella Classico. Under 7 bucks a bottle. Supper friuty, medium bodied, soft tannins, a real drinking bargain! I've bought three cases! I would pay $15 plus for this wine.

I was touting the Paringa a few months ago. Excellent QPR. Just ran out of it last week. I will go get some more today. Loads of threads about this wine, though.

I have found a new QPR wine. It is the 2000 Novella Petite Sirah. It is made by the same people that make the EOS PS. I have found it for $10.99 here in Louisville. If you have never tried it, I highly recommend that you do.

I jokingly asked my 14 yo son this question and he said "Free access to your cellar."

One of my current favorite QPRs is the Spanish wine 1999 Osborne Solaz at $7.99. Its even available currently at Publix (major SE grocery chain) stores at that price.
WS rated in low 80's I think...Parker high 80's. Parker is right IMHO. |

I think last time I got hosed on the Columbia crest. i forget what vintage it was, but it was high eighties or low ninetyy or something. It had some kind of windex quality ont he finish. Very very astringent, kind of nasty. I wonder if it was corked, but it didn't really taste like that. At any rate, it was nasty and embarrassing.

Columbia Crest Grand Estates cab. Cellar it for a year to knock off some rough edges and you have a great everyday wine for a low, low price. I'm drinking the '98 now and it's hard to believe you can get a wine this nice for $7.99.
