Some very nice Sauternes from this vintage but hardly the best wines made in the last 15 years. 2001 and 2003 were better. Probably 2005 and 2009 as well. Probably no reason to buy these as you can probably get the 2005 and 2009 for about the same price. Here are my notes:

2010 Château Climens - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac (2/8/2013)
Always one of the top Sauternes. This was just as good as the 1983, 2004 and 2009. I liked the 2005 slightly better. Not as tropical as past years but with excellent spice and botrytis notes. Flavors of apricot and white orchard fruit. 93-94 points.

2010 Château Guiraud - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (2/8/2013)
4th vintage I've had of this wine. Liked this better than the 2005 and about the same as the 1997 and 2003. Thick and unctuous. Notes of spiced fruit, canning spices, cloves and lemon. Long finish. 92 points.

2010 Château La Tour Blanche Sauternes - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (2/8/2013)
The best wine I've had from this estate was the 2001. Also not as good as the 2003 or 2009 but the equal of the 2005. Fruitier nose than most of the other Sauternes. Sweet with mango and tropical notes. Good botrytis spice on the finish. 91-93 points.

2010 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (2/8/2013)
My 2nd favorite Sauternes of the tasting after the Climens. Better than the 2005. About the same as the 2003 and 2009. The 1995, 2000 and 2001 that I've had were better. Notes of peaches and pineapples with evident botrytis. 92-93 points.

2010 Château Suduiraut - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (2/8/2013)
Fairly typical wine for this estate (profile wise) but with a little less depth than I would like. The equal of the 1990, 1998, 2000 and 2009. Not as good as the 2003 or 2005 or the great 2001. Less spicy than most of the other Sauternes. Was hoping for more. Notes of apricot and papaya. 91-92 points.

2010 Château Doisy-Daëne - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (2/8/2013)
Notes of apple cider and poached pears. Medium body. Not as rich as some of the other Sauternes at the tasting. The equivalent of the 2003 but not as good as the 2001 and the excellent 2005. 90-91 points.

Great notes! I stocked up on the '07, and might have to pick up a few of these too.

Vino Me,

Do you want me to bring the 2001 La Tour Blanche to the March 15th offline? The only problem is it is a 375ml and hard to share with 15 people.

15 people and a 375ml does not make for a good combo.
