This is my idea of a good food wine. Nice bright color, lightly oaked if oaked at all, not powerful but clean, balanced fruit, 13.5% alcohol. 90 points

Pippin - always a good go to chard if you're a fan of crisp calis...
I disdain oaky whites and am a big fan... |

I forgot to mention, that as a member of the Saintsbury wine club, the price to me was just under $17 per bottle. This is a deal!

I have always found this to be one of the best QPR chardonnays in CA. My experience is you can buy it on faith every year. If you hold it a couple years you will be rewarded with a well-integrated wine with wonderful balance.

Jim and Pippin - I too, should disclose I'm a wine club member - but their entire lineup (sans syrahs, blech!) of pinots is delicious as well, at very reasonable prices.
The Garnet pinot is maybe the greatest Pinot QPR on the planet at under $18. |

My favorite Saintsbury wine is their regular bottling pinot noir at approximately $24 and available in half bottles. I love half bottles, no guilt!
