Has anyone tried or heard of this wine? It is being offered by a local retailer. I have tried several of K's wines before and really enjoyed them. Thanks in advance.

I have not tried it, but I hear it is quite unique and monolithic. I believe this got 100pts by someone. Wine Enthusiast maybe. What kind of price are you seeing this for?

IW, it retails here in Massachusetts for $100, which is the price quoted on the K Vintners web site. The WE did give the wine a 100 point rating but I have concerns about a 100 point score, especially from WE.

I wouldn't trust a 100 from WE either. They once gave a score of 95 to water from the Ohio River.

I was looking from a score from Tanzer but I do not think that he has scored this. There are a few notes up on CT.

Thanks Alta, sound like the tasters on CT loved it, average rating was a 95. Maybe WE finally got one right. Big Grin

Thanks for the pricing info. It is about 10 bucks more here in KY. (b/c of our pathetic wholesale taxes)

I have seen many Charles Smith wines here but not that one yet. I am going to look for it though because I met him at a tasting he put on at a wine shop in St Louis and I liked all the wines across the board at various price points.

I broke down and purchased a bottle today Cool. Hopefully, I can keep my hands off of this, so you may not see tasting notes anytime soon Smile.

You did good. I have tasted it and gave it high scores myself. Probably one of the best young new world syrahs I have ever had. And I have had a few.

Parker gave this wine 98 so perhaps WE is not as far off as the river water score afterall.

I saw the 98 from Parker's boy Jay Miller and wondered about score inflation, but I still took the leap. Big Grin
